DISTORT ENTERTAINMENT PRESENTS AN EVENING OF METAL FEATURINGŠ
THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER With VERY special guests The End, A Life Once Lost, and The Gorgeous
November 5th 2005 @ THE REVERB ---
Distort Entertainment proudly presents The Black Dahlia Murder at The Reverb in Toronto, ON, with special guests The End, A Life Once Lost, and The Gorgeous.
Named after the long-unsolved murder of a young Hollywood Starlet, Detroit, Michigan¹s, Metal Connoisseurs, The Black Dahlia Murder, combine elements of melodic Scandinavian death and black metal bands, with the more straightforward style apparent in classic Florida death metal. Seamlessly twisting from destructively fast blast beats to beautiful and dark melodic textures, The Black Dahlia Murder provide a soundtrack to the horror and insanity surrounding The Black Dahlia legacy. Having toured with genre favorites The Red Chord, Arch Enemy, Napalm Death, and Terror, The Black Dahlia Murder have established themselves at the forefront of the North American Metal scene. They have garnered the success of being on the Billboard Top 200 and are one of the top selling artists on the Metalblade roster.
Musically Excessive, busy and spastic, Mississauga, Ontario¹s The End, craft startlingly intense, memorable songs that demand repeated listening. Unlike anything heard before, The Ends secret, lies not within the bands monstrous guitar tone, deafening volumes, and vociferous vocals, but rather in the bands manipulation of time, order, and velocity, creating a chaos unlike anything else. With an unparallel work ethic and a history of strong musical releases, The End shows no sign of deviating from their pursuit of musical intensity. Having already been heralded by musical journalists everywhere (their debut was considered one of the 10 essential mathcore albums by UK Metal Hammer), The End have clearly solidified their place among heavy music¹s vanguard.
Hailing from the dark underbelly of Philadelphia, A Life Once Lost gives birth to the most progressively pulverizing metallic hardcore the world has ever known. Combining the erratic, calculating rhythms of Dillinger Escape Plan, the psychotic poetry of Deadguy, the slow-burn hypnosis of Isis, and the self torturing artisans in Converge, A Life Once Lost guide their listeners into the darkest corners of the musical sphere. Known for their break-through album ³A Great Artist,² A Life Once Lost recently signed with Ferret Music, and released their debut album with the label, entitled ³Hunter.²
Also, a must-not-miss on the bill are one of the most buzz-worthy bands in Canada¹s thriving metal scene, The Gorgeous.
