OPIATE FOR THE MASSES is about to get REALLY busy! On tap is a tour with FILTER, a new album on a new label home, a hot single headed to radio and a new look to their web portal http://www.myspace.com/opiateforthemasses
The band’s much anticipated full-length album, Manifesto (their debut with Century Media), recorded by two Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum producers: Ulrich Wild (Slipknot, Deftones) and John Travis (Kid Rock, Buckcherry), is set for a 7/8/08 release. MANIFESTO is a propulsive mix of sheer hard rock aggression, soaring melodies and electronic experimentation. A track that will be included on Manifesto, “Dead Underground,” originally appeared on the Saw III soundtrack and exposed the band to a whole new audience.
OPIATE fan, Joey Jordison of SLIPKNOT says “OPIATE FOR THE MASSES is nothing short of hypnotic. Tracks such as ‘21st Century Time Bomb’ and the somber lull of ‘The Habit’ make this new album a must-have for fans of Industrial, Goth, Metal and New Wave.” The first single “Burn You Down” is set to mow down Active Rock radio in late May 2008.
OPIATE FOR THE MASSES created a solid buzz and diehard fanbase with their self-produced debut album, The Spore, and its slew of major tours alongside the likes of Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, My Chemical Romance and Seether, among others. They were also a featured act on the inaugural Taste of Chaos tour. Their latest touring adventure will be with FILTER, beginning on May 20th in Atlanta, GA. They will play a total of 35 dates with the rock favorites!
Other fans you might have heard of lavish OPIATE’ with praise – Chester Bennington of LINKIN PARK states “I think they’re going to be BIG.” Synyster Gates of AVENGED SEVENFOLD adds “This is the band to look out for in 2008. They are a great rock band with an edge, and certainly a must-see live.” With Manifesto, OPIATE FOR THE MASSES - Ron Underwood (vocals), Jim Kaufman (guitars, synths) and Seven Antonopoulos (drums) with newly added bassist, Anna K (Drain STH, Revolting Cocks) - are poised to make an impressive mark on the modern musical landscape. |
