I am very pleased to announce that METAL BLADE RECORDS has just signed a worldwide deal with death metal legends HATE ETERNAL. Formed in 1997, HATE ETERNAL's goal has always been to challenge musical limitations and create new boundaries with no compromise. To obtain goals aimed at by many yet reached by only a select few, to create music that not only defies all clichés, but that creates a true sense of power, dissonance and consonance, heaviness and speed, melody and brutality, simply put horrific hymns. Guitarist Erik Rutan has crafted an impressive career by attaining that goal consistently for well over a decade with his legendary work in RIPPING CORPSE and MORBID ANGEL. Not to mention his other career as engineer, producer for bands such as CANNIBAL CORPSE, SOILENT GREEN, SIX FEET UNDER, CELLADOR, VITAL REMAINS, PREMONITIONS OF WAR, GOATWHORE and INTO THE MOAT just to name a few and the list goes on.
"I am truly honored to be working with HATE ETERNAL. They are a legendary band and I am so happy to welcome them to the METAL BLADE family". Brian Slagel.
"Signing to METAL BLADE for us reconfirms that all the hard work, blood, sweat and tears we have put into the band has been worth every single moment. This is completely amazing. We know we will forge on with all the support and confidence a band can ask for from their record label. We are proud to be a part of the hugely successful METAL BLADE family and look forward to bringing our music to the next level". Erik Rutan
HATE ETERNAL is currently in the writing process for their follow up to their 2005 release "I, Monarch" that shall be recorded at Rutan's own MANA RECORDING STUDIOS in June/July 2007. |

I'll tell you a little bit about where we are with the album for those of you being curious. I went to Kemi last week (29.11.) to check out what was happening and to pick up the basic tracks for my overdubs. At that point Tommy had already played all the drums, Jani had laid down demo-guitars, and some of the bass-tracks have also been ready. In addition to this there was a whole bunch of singing and keys on there by Tony, so I got a pretty good idea about how things seem to shape up. I `ve hanging around the Tico-Tico Studio for a couple of days, listening to the songs and Marko playing bass. Anyway, yesterday Tony came down to Kokkola and we headed out to my friend's studio (Studio 57, which is basically in the woods) with a wild bunch of string players, just to jam around a bit. At the end of the day we had two tracks ready, we'll see if they make it to the album. It was, however, very nice to listen to professionals playing some of our songs, adding their own flavour to the mix. As I write this, Jani is in Helsinki at Sonic Pump studios, tracking all the rhythm guitars (he'll be done by the end of the week), on Thursday (7.12.) I'll go back to Studio 57 to play some hammond parts and next week I'm supposed to play the Grand Piano for a couple of songs. It's quite interesting with the hammond & piano, since we tune down a half-step and you can't tune those instruments, so it might be a little bit tricky. Those of you who don't know what I'm talking about...never mind...and all you crazy keyboard players out there, you'll know what I mean - boring technical details! So, the album is well on its way....and all the recording should be done by the end of the month. This time we have about 20 songs. We'll see how many will actually end up on the album. Musically, this album will be a lot more progressive than the last one and I think it will end up heavier as well. That's all for now, Henkka" Furthermore, the band has been confirmed to play a headliner show at ProgPower USA VIII on October 5th, 2007 in Atlanta, Georgia / USA. |

ARSIS SIGNS WORLDWIDE DEAL WITH NUCLEAR BLAST RECORDS |

When it comes to seminal death metal bands from North America, the East Coast alone can boast the likes of the genre's greatest staples such as Cannibal Corpse, Immolation, Death, Morbid Angel, and Nile. With West Virginia's legacy of being the only state formed as a direct result of the American Civil War, it's no wonder that ARSIS have continued this tide of insurgence - albeit in the musical realm. The band, which derived its name from the musical phrase "arsis and thesis" meaning unstressed (up-) and stressed (down-) beats respectively, is righteously tinged with black & thrash metal influences but is completely dedicated to expanding the reaches of melodicism and technicality in the genre of death metal. Checking-in from their current tour with God Forbid, Mnemic, and Goatwhore, founding member/guitarist/bassist/lead vocalist and former Berklee College of Music student James Malone has this to say about the newly-inked worldwide collaboration with Nuclear Blast Records: "Since the conception of ARSIS, I hoped to see the band as a part of the Nuclear Blast roster. Four years later, this is now a reality. I expect great things this coming year; the band is now a four piece, solid tours are on the way, and we have a fantastic label behind us 100%. I am more excited now about the potential of the band than I have ever been." All of the ARSIS recordings (which include two demos, one EP, and two full-length albums) have won them many fans among the metal underground, the metal press, and metal musicians themselves. Their 2004 debut, A Celebration Of Guilt, was praised to hell and back by Revolver Magazine as "the best in the genre since At The Gates' legendary swan song [Slaughter Of The Soul]." Given their current momentum in support of their latest album, United In Regret, and with, as Malone states, "our most brutal release coming in 2008," ARSIS are well on their way to making their discography absolutely essential for any fan with an extreme music library.
