Destruction is a German thrash metal band formed in Lörrach, Germany in 1982. They originally started under the name "Knight of Demon". Destruction recorded their first demo in 1984 entitled Bestial Invasion of Hell. Destruction is one of the three big names of teutonic thrash metal; the others are Kreator and Sodom. A 2000 reunion has been consistently successful and the band released a new album in 2005. The band have had a heavy influence on the American thrash metal genre. In the '90s Destruction were not signed to a record label, so were forced to self-produce their albums, until they signed a contract with Nuclear Blast.

guitar player Esa Holopainen has posted the following update on the band's official website www.amorphis.net "It's been a really hectic year in the AMORPHIS-camp, and at the same time one of the best ones in our career. We released “Eclipse”, the first album with Mr. Joutsen on vocals, in spring and all the response from album and shows have been great. We ´ve really won back the mood, from which I honestly thought that we lost years back. Big thanks to Tomi and his inspiration to all of us. |

Dan McNew, the organizer of the Ride for Dime bike rally in honor of late PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, has posted the following message on the RideForDime.com web site:
"We all know Dimebag's musical roots were in country western music, and we all know what a great sense of humor he had. And last but not least, Dime supported the local music scene in Dallas and would sometimes record with local musicians. I ran into one of those musicians, 'Throbbin Donnie Rodd' tonight [Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006] in a club who told me the story of how Dimebag sat in on a recording session with him and recorded this country western song called 'Country Western Transvestite Whore'. Dime plays lead guitar and lead vocals. I just wanted to pass this song on to everyone. Enjoy!"
